Agostinho Neto University issued the following announcement on Oct. 9.

The Department of Public Health Teaching and Research (DEI / SP) of the Faculty of Medicine of the Agostinho Neto University holds the 3rd Symposium of Public Health , on October 15, 2019, in the auditorium of the School of Medicine-Quintalão of Hospital Américo Good Life.

The 3rd Public Health Symposium, which will be held under the theme: “ Enhancement of Human Capital in Angola’s Health Development” , associated with the theme: Catalyzing Implementation, Coverage and Quality of Key Interventions ”, will be divided into four thematic panels:

 I- Human Capital: Coverage and Quality of interventions aimed at survival and nutritional status in children under five years old;

II- Human Capital: Coverage and Quality of interventions to improve adolescent health to reduce fertility rate and maternal mortality;

III- Human Capital: Coverage and Quality of interventions to control specific mortality from HIV / AIDS and Pulmonary Tuberculosis;

IV- Coverage and Quality of interventions for the inclusion of children in schools, retention and achievement, health literacy and improvement of sanitary hygiene conditions of schools.

The opening act will be chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Santos Santos Nicolau, followed by the Conference on “The Human Capital Initiative in Angola”, with support from the World Bank, to be delivered by a representative of the World Bank.
