AGOSTINHO NETO UNIVERSITY: National Sport System addressed at UAN Campus

Agostinho Neto University issued the following announcement on Aug. 23.

The UAN Campus hosted yesterday, August 22, 2019, a lecture on the National Sports System, given by Jurist and Lawyer Egas Viegas.

The activity was held and promoted by the Central Library of Augustine University.

The act was chaired by the Director of the Central Library, Dr. Luís Laerson Neto, who stressed the importance of sports practice for youth, and it is therefore necessary to reflect on sports practices in higher education institutions.

The lecture highlighted the importance of the act to bring together students of law, chemistry, physics, computer science, physical education and sports and other areas of knowledge, emphasizing that everyone can contribute to improve the National Sports System, for this it is necessary to promote studies to improve sports reality, medium and long term investment and the fight against corruption in sport.

The activity was attended by the Director General of the Higher Institute of Physical Education and Sports, Dr. Ruth Tavares.

During the lecture was presented the book: INTRODUCTION TO SPORTS LAW, in this book, Egas Viegas legally and doctrinally fits the sports regulatory law, finding the parameters for the definition of sports law, as an autonomous branch of law, integrating the body whole, the legal order of the country, outlining the guidelines of how it emerged in the legal framework of Angolan society.

Egas da Piedade Viegas “THE SON OF RANGEL” was born in Rangel, Luanda Province, on August 2nd. Law degree from Agostinho Neto University in 2013. Lawyer, enrolled in the Provincial Council of the Angolan Bar Association, since 2014.
