Angola Cables, a telecommunications multinational specializing in submarine cables, will offer its customers customized amounts of data capacity through Ciena’s Geomesh Extreme Spectrum Sharing Capability. Angola Cables can reliably and securely deliver highly differentiated virtual fiber pairs – which are dedicated and up-to-date parts of the total optical spectrum – to end users through a shared physical fiber pair. Customers can access Angola Cables’ spectrum sharing capacity through Cable Monet, already in operation between Boca Raton in Florida, São Paulo and Fortaleza in Brazil.

Last year, Angola Cables selected Ciena’s GeoMesh Extreme and Blue Planet solutions and services to support the launch of Cable Monet’s services. The 10,556 km route currently provides more than 25 Tb / s of traffic on the Angola Cables network between the US and Latin America’s main business center in São Paulo.
