Agostinho Neto University issued the following announcement on May 21.
Agostinho Neto University participates, on May 23 and 24, 2019, in the international "24h Innovation" competition, at the Continental Hotel in Luanda from 2 pm.
The event is a competition organized by the Montreal-Canada School of Advanced Technology (ETS) and is developed internationally, hosting more than 1,000 competing students distributed across five continents. Its aim is to encourage teams across the globe to find creative solutions to the challenges posed by private companies, public institutions or citizens, etc. The solutions presented are evaluated by local juries and an international jury based in Montreal.
This year, following the French-Angola bilateral cooperation program, which allowed the creation of a master's degree in «Industrial Systems Engineering and the implementation of a Fablab in the Faculty of Engineering of Agostinho Neto University (FEUAN) in partnership with Total and the French Embassy, decided to participate in this event as a local organizer. Four teams of six students each integrating a former student of the Eiffel high schools and future Total scholarship holders in France. Participants will benefit from this week's short training on the methods and tools needed to manage a project. A local jury, composed of professionals from companies and professors, will have the responsibility to select the project that will be evaluated at international level.
The event will take place at the Continental Hotel in Luanda from 2:00 pm on May 23 until 2:00 pm the following day. Teams will learn about the different challenges presented, each choosing the challenge they will face in order to find an innovative solution to solve the problem. Each team can count on the support of external experts who will come, at their request, to advise it. Twenty-two hours later, they will deliver their findings in the form of a two-minute video that will present this innovation, demonstrate their technical viability and their economic sustainability.
The results will be announced at the end of May 24.
