Catholic University of Angola recently issued the following announcement.
The Grand Rector of UCAN, Father José Vicente Cacuchi, and the Director of the Ethics Research and Education Center, Friar José Sebastião visited South Korea on March 9-13, representing UCAN, at the invitation of the outgoing Ambassador of Angola in the Republic of South Korea, Dr. Albino Malungo.
Both officials visited and held meetings in various institutions, including theParliament of the Republic of South Korea, where they met with the Chairman of the Education Committee and Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Committee between South Korea and Angola and the Committee for National Security; at Daegu Catholic University; at the Catholic University of Korea (Seoul, of the Jesuits); at Sogang University; Yonsei University and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, where they were with their respective presidents (heads), heads of international relations departments and members of the departments of some Faculties such as Automotive Engineering, Languages and others;
Of these meetings, four (4) Memoranda of Understanding were signed, with four (4) Universities. These agreements will allow: exchange of students, teachers, researchers, programs, publications, information; carrying out joint projects; capacity building in areas such as curriculum development, institutional development; creation or reinforcement of language centers (Portuguese and Korean) and study of the two countries.
On his return, the Director of the Center for Teaching and Research Ethics, Frei Doutor José Sebastião, presented a travel report to the Rectorship Council.At the moment, the parties are in contact and work on the definition of concrete and practical measures for the implementation of cooperation.
