Angola Cables recently issued the following announcement.
Angola Cables recently signed a partnership with Malaysian operator TM Global for low-latency testing that will soon offer the market a shorter route that will connect Asia to South America via SACS and SAFE cable -South Africa Far East cable system from Telekom Malaysia.
The partnership is particularly transformative as it allows the Asian market a new “South-South” option to redirect its Internet traffic that currently travels north between Europe and North America to reach South American markets, affecting considerably the experience of end consumers in both markets.
The signing of the agreement places Angola and Africa at the center of trade between the economies of both regions, taking into account the more than 1 billion Internet users cataloged on both sides.
Preliminary test results prove that a “South-South” Internet traffic connection has a considerable reduction in latency compared to routes currently used in the north, an option that when commercially available will be an important commercial product for Angola Cables enabling a more robust and efficient connection between ISPs, content and application providers, and distribution network providers from the point of view of the data sharing process.
