Angola participated on Tuesday, November 5, in Gaberone, Botswana, at the international diamond conference.
As part of the reinforced cooperation, the Angolan delegation, led by the Minister of Mineral Resources and Oil, Diamantino Azevedo, held meetings with the counterparts of Botswana and Namibia. At these meetings issues related to the world diamond market were addressed, such as prospecting, exploration and exploitation. and cut, as well as the theme of synthetic diamonds.
The Minister also held meetings with top managers of the diamond De Beers with whom he discussed matters relating to relations between this company and Endiama.
In addition to the minister, the Angolan delegation included officials from the Angolan Geological Mining Institute (IGEO) and members of the boards of directors of Endiama and Sodiam, with a note by Diamantino Azevedo and Ganga Júnior, as speakers at the international diamond conference.
The World Diamond Conference, held under the slogan “Business Leadership for Social Capital”, also focused on diamond research and development in the region, taking into account its strategic role in the economy of these countries.
