Government of Angola issued the following announcement on October 13.
Angolan Government and the Norwegian University of Technology signed Monday in Luanda a Memorandum of Understanding on technical assistance in training of Angolan teachers.
The document provides for the training of Angolan staff in Master's and Doctoral courses in the field of educational sciences in Norway.
The agreement will also enable the training of technicians from the ministerial departments of the Government of Angola, responsible for the implementation of teaching and research policies with the National Institute for Research and Development of Education in northern European country.
"This cooperation with Norway in the field of training Angolan teachers is of great strategic relevance", underlined the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior, after signing of the agreement.
The official said that the understanding symbolises the Angolan Government's commitment to training teachers with quality.
In turn, Norway's ambassador to Angola, Kikkan Marshall Haugen, who signed the Memorandum for his country, underlined the fact of the agreement to cover the granting of scholarships to Angolans in that country.
"It is a partnership between equals. It is a kind of partnership for the future, "noted Kikkan Marshall Haugen.
Angola- Norway diplomatic relations date back to 1977.
In addition to cooperating in the oil sector, the two States have a partnership in the field of human rights and, in 2016, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Public Consultations.
