TAAG: Flies Over 200 Passengers

TAAG Angola Airlines issued the following announcement on September 15.

At least ninety-nine national citizens residing in Cabinda province and who had been stranded in Luanda returned Monday to their far-northern province in TAAG commercial flight.

The move is part of gradual resumption of the TAAG's regular flights in the period of Public Calamity amid restrictive measures to contain the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

The 120-seat Boing 777 airplane departed from the country's capital with only 99 passengers due to biosafety measures, and brought back 110 passengers to Luanda.

Passengers were required to conduct rapid covid-19 test before check-in, which did not take place due to lack of a functional mechanism by the Inter-sector Commission, tasked with coordinating the actions, according to a local source.

Apart from 50 percent restriction, due to pandemic, a huge crown demonstrated outside the terminal airport trying to force the airport officials to allow them to join the trip.
