Angola Cables has entered into a significant partnership with DE-CIX, a global Internet Exchange (IX) operator. The company has become a premium wholesale reseller for DE-CIX, which will allow it to leverage DE-CIX's interconnection ecosystem to enhance its service offerings. This development aims to provide businesses and enterprises access to one of the largest and most advanced IX platforms worldwide.
The agreement highlights Angola Cables' commitment to digital transformation and strengthening its position in the global connectivity market. Rui Faria, an executive board member of Angola Cables, emphasized the strategic nature of their partnership with DE-CIX, which dates back to 2014. Faria stated, "Over the past decade this partnership has been strengthened by a mutual intent to improve global interconnectivity and providing the most efficient premium connectivity access and seamless peering experience for the customers we serve in Africa and Brazil."
Faria further noted that integrating with DE-CIX enhances Angola Cables' value proposition along with its TelCables subsidiaries by facilitating interconnection with Tier 1 carriers, cloud providers, and OTT platforms. This integration ensures low latency and high resilience of their IP network. He added, "Together with DE-CIX, we continue to reduce digital barriers and promote a more efficient and accessible internet, connecting businesses and users to the world’s leading content sources."
Mareike Jacobshagen, head of DE-CIX's global business partner program, commented on the longstanding collaboration between the two companies. She remarked that their successful history is now reflected in their premium-partner status: "Together, we are driving forward the business and thus the solutions that companies need to network, peer and interconnect."
